Fraud alert at AU headquarters over symbols competition |
*We have received an official letter from African Union informing us God Bless Africa was a winner in the Africa Union Symbols competition. We also received a cheque for $3,000.00 for the third position.
We gathered God Bless Africa was voted the best song by the competition judges and the public(people voted online). African Union had three songs on the table which where automatically
pre-chosen without going through the competition. These songs included the original and revised OAU anthem and one made by one of the competition judges. Two of these songs due to political considerations were place above God Bless Africa.
God Bless Africa remains the best of the songs based on merit. God Bless Africa remains the unofficial African anthem, and everybody likes it. We have released our God Bless Africa/Rise Up For Africa CD.
The CD contains a total of 14 songs, and is available for purchase now. Click to view CD cover photos.

God Bless Africa
Composed By Chief Charles O. Okereke
*Note:
The main objective of the website(Africa Masterweb) is the cyber consolidation of African resources to enable
its people harness them better and in addition provide the much needed information about the continent to
prospective investors and the world in general.
The Web Commentary discusses Africa/Global issues such as AIDS, regional conflicts, etc.
The commentary section would help soothe the wounds of
civil strives,
corruption, and
hunger, and help energize the people to clearer vision and prosperity.
This site is not a hate site, and the song is neither the same. If you belong to a hate or racist group, you have come to the
wrong place, and we request you leave the site. People should live in peace and harmony.
God Bless Africa would be played before each Web Commentary session. It would also be available for distribution. The song presented as the unofficial African anthem, would be available for adoption by African Union as the official African or African Union anthem if the need arises. The theme of the Web Commentary is 'Peace and Prosperity' of the continent. Africa has been plagued with corruption, wars, diseases, and famine. It is just about time to soothe these wounds, and advocate for treatment through this Web Commentary medium. In this manner, the forum would be used as a vehicle of peace and prosperity to a great but troubled continent. Africa would be at peace and would grow, when the guns are silenced, corrupt and inept leaders brought to law and order, hunger given no place, and menacing diseases beaten back. Africa would transcend to a 'New Africa' with all these in place. Posterity would tell the rest for a continent endowed with both human and natural resources.
All we are saying for Africa, "Let the guns implode, the wooden barrels decompose to fertilize a vibrant agriculture, and the metallic barrels and structures melted for industrialization. Let the ensuing abundance fill up the greedy and the rest of society for the complete healing of Africa."
National anthem can be generally described as patriotic musical composition that is formally recognized by a country's(or an entity) government as their state's official national song. In the 19th and 20th centuries with the rise of the national state nationalism, grew the concept of identity which members of a particular government, nation, society, or territory may collectively feel to advance. National anthems, sometimes referred to as national hymns created an avenue for such advancement. Most countries have national anthems, which in some cases coexist with other commonly sung patriotic songs. A patriotic song can be described as an unofficial national anthem. This is where God Bless Africa fits for now. The song was entered among many other songs in the Africa Union Symbols competition, the result of which would be released towards the end of June, 2004 or so. If God Bless Africa is the winner, it then becomes the official African anthem, otherwise it remains the unofficial African anthem.
