Nigerian kills self in Indian jail

A 30-year-old Nigerian, convicted of drug peddling, was found dead at Indian Arthur Road Jail on Tuesday. John Sebastian was recently taken into custody. According to the police, he committed suicide by hanging himself in the cell. At around 10.30 pm, Sebastian tore his trousers and used them as a noose. He was rushed to J J Hospital, where he was declared dead.

This is the second incident in the last two years where a Nigerian has been found dead at this jail. Christopher Orriki, who was also arrested for drug peddling, was stabbed in his barrack two years ago.
