5th African Scout Jamboree Award

The 5th African Scout Jamboree adopted God Bless Africa composed by Chief Charles O. Okereke as its official anthem. The jamboree was held from July 25 to July 30, 2006 in Maputo, Mozambique. Activities also stretched to other cities and venues, including Antonio Repinga Park, Matola, Catembe, Xefina, Konglote and Pequenos. Scouts from all over the world participated in the events. The jamboree kicked off with the playing of the Mozambican anthem and God Bless Africa( anthem of the jamboree ) and speech by former Mozambican president( and former African Union Chairman ), His Excellency, Joaquim Alberto Chissano who was Chairman of the jamboree and President of National Council of the League of Scouts of Mozambique. Joaquim Alberto Chissano is a signatory to Chief Okereke African Scout award certificate above.
