Nigeria: Abia PDP Chairman Dies In Hotel Masterweb News Desk ( Monday, July 30, 2007 ) - Send Comments -
Nigeria is in shock over the sudden death of PDP Abia State chapter chairman, Dr Rex Otuka, who was found dead in a hotel room in the capital city, Abuja on Friday. He had led a strong Abia PDP delegation from the state to Abuja for the inauguration on Thursday of a newly appointed Minister from the state. Otuka was said to be in good mood and high spirits during the course of the event. Activities culminated with a party after which Otuka retired to his hotel suite. The following day, Friday, he was found dead in his hotel room by party members and associates who had gone there to visit him. Otuka's body has been flown back to Umuahia, Abia State capital and deposited at Alaoma mortuary. Burial arrangements are yet to be announced at the time of this report. Dr Otuka was an alumnus of Government College Umuahia in Abia State, a medical doctor and pastor by profession.
