" Kalu gave a long two hour speech, intermittently glorified with loud applause by the audience. Ears transmitting messages full of hope to the brain and mind, as the governor gave details of his package for Nigeria if elected."

The day was Friday, January 28, 2005 and the place Marriott Hotel, Bethesda, Maryland, U.S.A. It was a rainbow day never seen in that part of the world. Streams of colors paraded in cotton. wool, nylon and other textile forms by Nigerians and their friends; human feet taking strides to one destination. Voices roared in different tunes, refreshments tuned vocal cords as men and women awaited the commencement of the meeting. Time slipped as minutes and hours rolled by passing the officially designated meeting time of 5.30pm. The crowd surged, traditional costumes forming bonus interior decoration. The atmosphere was wonderfully politically charged as attendees deliberated the need to make 2007 a reality for Nigerians. A large calendar with the picture of Governor Kalu and the inscription 'The Champion Governor' towered the hall stage. Masterweb News Team was there in Bethesda, Maryland to witness these unfolding events.

The crowd was called to order at 7.45pm and several important dignitaries given the stage to address the crowd. All the speakers spoke of the good leadership of Governor Kalu giving him credits ranging from road construction to pipe borne water amongst others. Some described him as the action governor while others described him as the only hope for Nigeria in 2007. Mr. Emeka Odunze, Abia State Ex-Commissioner for Public Utilities gave a lot of credit to Kalu and stressed the need for Nigerians to rally behind him in 2007. Lanre Banjo, Ogun State NCP 2003, Gubernatorial Candidate spoke highly of Governor Kalu, describing him as a man Nigerians are to trust. The itinerary of Reality 2007 was announced by the organizing committee as follows - rally in Houston, Texas April 27, 2007, and another in late July in Chicago. Attendees were called upon to sign-up under any of the committees of Reality 2007.

At 9.05 an announcement was made of the arrival of the guest of honor, Gov. Orji Uzor Kalu. The governor narrowly walked in at 9.10pm, as the hall was already full with supporters either sitting or standing shoulder to shoulder. The sound of shoes scratching the floor launched the hall into standing order, and voices galvanized the night into cheers for the action governor. Silence fell as Kalu took the stage and cleared his voice with all eyes at ninety degrees to the stage. Kalu gave a long two hour speech, intermittently glorified with loud applause by the audience. Ears transmitting messages full of hope to the brain and mind, as the governor gave details of his package for Nigeria if elected. He said unemployment would be history in Nigeria and industrialization the way in Nigeria if elected. Kalu said, "a nation can not develop without steady power supply," and promised round the clock electric supply in the country if elected. He said only God could stop his presidential bid in 2007, promising nothing but hope for Nigerians if they made the right electoral decision by voting for him.

The action governor called upon Nigerians to harness the strength and vigor in the young, rather than using the same old people that had failed the nation. He said that African culture called for the respect of the old, but not political leadership by same. Leadership should be based on merit and not age nor affiliations, Kalu added. Kalu called on Nigerians to work together through the electoral process in stopping those who ruined the country from coming back to power.

A question/answer session followed Kalu's speech to the applause of the audience on his answer to every question posed to him. It was a very successful outing for the action governor.
